Hi, my name is B! Welcome to my blog and Insta page; The Big Picture.
I thought it would be appropriate to introduce myself a little so that you know a bit about the person behind the account.
I was diagnosed with Punctate Inner Choroidopathy (PIC) on the 23rd January 2020 at the age of 24. I've made this account to raise awareness of the condition in the hopes that others may get diagnosed and treated quicker.
A little about me that isn't eye related (because there is more to me, I swear 😂)...
I live in the West Midlands and work full time in a pub. I have a both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Media and Culture, and aspire to do a PhD next year so that I can (hopefully) begin a career in research.
I have two sisters who are my absolute best friends, a niece and nephew I adore, and two fluffy little kittens called Winnie and Wilbur (you may see them on my Insta page; no I'm not a mad cat lady... I think... they're just too cute not to share).
I've decided to keep this account anonymous because even though I want to raise awareness of PIC, I don't feel quite brave enough just yet to tell everyone I know that it's me who has this condition. I'm not quite sure why; there is something about telling your story very openly that just feels incredibly daunting. I really admire those that can and do, but I'm not quite there yet. Maybe one day!
Until then, I hope you enjoy my blog.
B, x
